Fit For Life!!!

"Fit for Life"  
CELEBRATING THE 1st ANNIVERSARY OF FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA'S "LET’S MOVE CAMPAIGN" 
(Washington, D.C.)-The National Council of Negro Women, Inc (NCNW) partnered with  Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) will be commemorating the 1st anniversary of First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move Campaign” by hosting events under their “Fit for Life” targeting obesity in America.   


On Wednesday, February 9, 2011, Gertrude Peele, Florida State Convener, NCNW, the creator of the phenomenal Reed Educational Campus, designed to improve the quality of life for preteen girls in Jacksonville, Florida, suffering from obesity and other health problems.  The “Fit for Life” CORE LAND project is an expansion of the campus to help girls and the surrounding communities comprehend the need for better food choices and the benefits of exercise.
 
Activities include: 2,025 Foot Scenic Walking Trail * Old Charleston Joggling Bench * Yoga Gardening * Flower Cutting 
Refreshments From Healthy Food Court 


Ms. Peele spent a great deal of time getting the Jacksonville, Florida Section of NCNW ready for this long term, sustainable health project, which now includes the Reed Educational Campus, a permanent structure, along with the garden and accompanying land.  Please go to www.PRCDigital.com and click on Community to view a powerfully moving video about this amazing project.
